Welcome to Our Online Workshop:
100 Common Teaching Mistakes and How to Prevent Them,
Facilitated by Dr. Victoria Nesnick

This self-paced, asynchronous, online workshop is designed to help higher education, subject-matter experts enhance their teaching effectiveness.  The workshop is offered for 3 or 6 professional development (PD) or continuing education (CE) credits, at the discretion of the participant’s institutional administrator(s). 

Each online workshop is comprised of five components:

1. 1. MANUAL:  100 Common Teaching Mistakes and How to Prevent Them by Victoria Nesnick is a 103 page publication, which is required reading for each participant who intends to earn PD or CE credits for this online workshop.  The manual is reader friendly.  A sample of contents and format are provide at:  A Table of Contents and Manual, Page 34.
      Each workshop participant will receive a hard copy of the manual, from their institution’s administrator.  Each manual is 8 1/2″ x 11″ wire bound with a clear plastic front and back cover.
      

      1-25 Manuals:  $39.95 each (includes tax, handling and shipping)

      51 or More Manuals:   $29.95 each (includes tax, handling and shipping)
   2. FORUM:  These online forums correspond to the 10-part manual.
      Taking the workshop for 3 PD or CE credits requires completing 5 forums.
      Taking the workshop for 6 PD or CE credits requires completing 10 forums.
      Forum Part II is provided as a sample.  The length and depth of the forums may also be custom tailored to meet institutional needs.
   3. GLOSSARY:  This educational tool contains definitions for 104 words/phrases that help individuals become effective educators. Knowing and appropriately using correct academic terminology helps to build and sustain a professional persona as well as foster clear communication.  Periodically, the number will increase as new entries are added.  You are invited to revisit this section frequently and also to contact Dr. Nesnick with suggested entries which you believe will be helpful to educators.  Dr. Nesnick will be delighted to receive your entry, and, if you’d like, will include it in this list as well as add the phrase, “Contributed by [Your Name]”.  Thank you in advance.
      Each workshop participant will receive, from their institution’s administrator, a hard copy of the glossary containing definitions for at least 104 words/phrases.  It may also be purchased separately for $10. 
   4. ASSESSMENT:  These online assessment tools (open book tests) are comprised of multiple choice and matching questions.  Since they are designed as reviews and re-teaching tools, participants are required to score 100% on each test to earn a Certificate of Completion.  Participants may retake the tests as many times as needed in order to score 100%.

1. CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION:  This personalized document will be issued after all four workshop components have been completed successfully.
   
   Workshop Fees
   Whether taken for 3 or 6 PD/CE credits, each participant will receive a:
   – Hard copy of the manual
   – Hard copy of the glossary, and
   – Certificate of Completion
   The 3 credit workshop requires successfully completing 5 forums and 2 assessments. The fee is $150.
   
   The 6 credit workshop requires successfully completing 10 forums and 4 assessments. The fee is $250.
